I love the diversity on this recording. Cindy has the ability to change moods with each piece she plays. I think my favorite is the title piece, Limberlost Angel, an original by Cindy. In a minor key, it is moody and mystical, yet hopeful. And even though it’s a solo harp CD, I can almost here the bagpipes in Campbell’s Farewell. Another worthy-of-mention solo is Children's Song by A. Corea. Its modern harmonies along with repeated left hand pattern have a mesmerizing effect. The Swedish tune, Jos Mill Tune, is delightful! Cindy’s original, Walnut Welcome, has a jazzy and driving feel to it, and is nicely energetic. The English country dance set of Jamaica/Nonesuch is great, especially with the non-traditional treatment of the latter tune in both rhythm and harmony. Cherries Jubilee, a Cindy original, has some nice punch! There are two or three very minor quick passages which could have been executed more evenly, but overall, this is an admirable recording and I would highly recommend that you add "Limberlost Angel" to your collection.
