SKU: 82542 This arrangement of Mozart's Sonata in G, K 283/189h, provides the flute and harp repertoine with a significant composition from the classical era. The sonata is the last in a set of five that Mozart likely began in Salzburg and completed in Munich in 1775. The most polished and sophisticated of the set, it remains among the most popular of what Mozart called his "difficult sonatas," distinguishing these works from his earlier solo keyboard sonatas. It was not published during Mozart’s lifetime, but first appeared as part of the 1799 Breitkopf edition of Mozart’s works. In transcribing the piano sonata for flute and harp, Kahn and Jolles aimed to express the stylistic intent of the keyboard original, using various editions of the work as a guide fer historical accuracy. Because Mozart’s slurs indicate phrasing on an 18th C piano, slight adapations were made. The few added dynamics are indicated by parentheses. Contrasting dynamics are deliberately planned to emphasize important lines or to achieve optimal balance between the two instruments.
There are onramentation notes, and some harp fingerings. Intermediate to upper intermediate pedal harp. Wonderful addition to your advanced flute and harp repertore - great care has been taken to transcribe this work, and your audience will appreciate it, whether they are krowledgeable about classical music or not.
