The First Noel: 4 Hps - N.K. Brown

The First Noel, arranged for four pedal harps by Newel Kay Brown.  This unusual arrangement begins in Cm as the introduction and quickly moves to Eb. There are some interesting harmonic turns in this piece which you will surely enjoy. Another modulation takes you to the key of C for the ending. Well balanced among the parts.  Pedal harp only, intermediate.  For the advanced ensemble.

O Come O Come Emmanuel: 4 Hps - NK Brown

O Come, O Come, Emmanuel arranged for four pedal harps by Newel Kay Brown. This etherial melody begins in Gm and quickly modulates to Am.  There are several consecutive meter changes. Harps 1 and 2 work as a team, alternating with harps 3 and 4, also working as a team for a portion of the piece. Dynamics are well edited and range from piano to fortisimo. A dramatic arrangement. For the experienced ensemble, intermediate arrangements.

It Came Upon a Midnight Clear: 4 Hps - N.K. Brown

It Came Upon a Midnight Clear arranged for four pedal harps by Newel Kay Brown. This beautiful arrangement starts in Bb and modulates quickly to Ab.  It is sometimes full and rich and sometimes sparce and twinkly.  It ends in the key of Eb.  Intermediate difficulty.  Dynamics well edited.

Pachelbel's Canon in D: 4 Harps (NK Brown)

This arrangement, being used in the 2011 AHS Summer Harp Institute, can be played using lever, pedal or a combination.  The quick parts have been cleverly divided between the hands or the players, so nobody has the weight of all the 16th notes.  We have provided a sound sample, and a page of the score.

Written for the Octavia Harp Ensemble of North Texas, this is and upper intermediate, quick moving and exhilerating arrangement for pedal harp with a few glissandos, key changes, and lots of moving eighth notes.  We have provided a snippet for you to listen to, and one page of the score.  For 4 harps; contains the score and 4 pullout parts.

This  ensemble is being used for the 2011 AHS Summer Institute.

Deck/Good King for 4-8 harps: Dickerson

Arranged by Diane Dickerson, this arrangement of Deck the Halls and Good King Winceslas  is for 4-8 harps.  Both hands are written in treble clef and can be played by one or two harpists, depending on skill level, making this a versatile arrangement.  Nicely notated, all measures are numbered.  Written in the key of Cb major with glissandos and therefore pedal changes.  A  parts are relatively easy, Harp 4 requires good technique and also counting skills. Full score plus 8 pull-outs.  [aka Deck the Hall, Good King Wenceslas]

The Skaters Waltz - 2 Harps: Shari Pack

This famous composition by Emile Waldteufel is arranged for one pedal harp and one lever harp.  Harp 1 is the pedal harp part and could be played on lever if you eliminated the enharmonic glissandos at the end and played diatonic glisses.  There are a couple of accidentals that are very doable.  The enharmonic glisses are a nice touch, but the piece would not suffer without them.  Harp 2 is very easy.  This is a fun piece, and your audience will really enjoy it.  See sample  -  this arrangement is not hard, and can be played by intermediate or even lo
