Collection for Celtic Harp

Here is a French import from a collection called "The Soloists' Library" or  "Li Bibliotheque des Solistes".  It contains music for Celtic harp by the very prominent French harpist and composer Annie Challan. This collection includes three pieces for lever harp: Laura, Cascatelle and Promenade A Marly. The keys of the pieces are G, A minor and C. Upper Intermediate.

Niagara Moon: Alfredo Rolando Ortiz

An eight-page solo of intermediate to advanced difficulty.  Key of A minor with G# accidentals. Arpeggios, full chords in RH, active LH, some 16th note passages, and glissandos. For pedal or lever harp.  Visual sample is provided.

Dexterity Exercises for Celtic Music: Sue Richards

In this book you'll find 2 and 1/2 pages of important ideas and concepts, followed by over 20 pages of exercises and tunes.  There are scales, portions of scales, 2- and 3-note exercises, and more.  Tunes in the book are: Gallagher's Frolics (jig), The Haunted House (jig), Julia Delaney (reel), Kate Dalrymple (reel), The Glass of Beer (reel), Exile of Erin (reel), Braes of Tullimet (strathspey), and The Cat That Kittled in Jamie's Wig (strathspey)

Fantasy on Celtic Tunes: Linda Larkin

Subtitled “Memorable Gaelic Melodies in a Mystical Setting”, this  arrangement includes well-known favorites Searching for Lambs, Over the Sea to Skye, Islay Jig and Eleanor Plunkett and evokes the sound of antiquity.  It includes some lovely original music based on the harmonies of Eleanor Plunket.  Delicate segues keep it flowing and artfully tie it all together.  This could easily be adapted to harp and flute duo.  A minor moves into G major with plenty of time for adding F sharps.

Lullaby Collection: Angi Bemiss

Lullaby Collection, arranged by Angi Bemiss

Angi tells us this book began as a medley of two of her favorite lullabies, which she plays at the neo-natal intensive care unit at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. To her, this department is sacred. Angi says, too, that the chord progresion for the Pachelbel Canon is very relaxing for her, so this book contains introductions, bridges, and codas with that progression. The arrangements are straightforward, and chords are provided for you to make any changes you wish. Titles are:

Harp Song - The Golden Thread: Mary Umbarger

An interesting book with many great titles and marvelous history which will be great fodder for your introductions of the tunes.   With a few changes here and there you can make these arrangements your own. Chord changes are included and that is very helpful. I would purchase this book for the repertoire (for example, it contains the very beautiful Da Slockit Light and even has a harmony part for it), and for the short history lesson that precedes many of the tunes.  I would change around the notes here and there to suit my ear, especially some of the LH notes.

Turlough O'Carolan: Sue Richards

From the arranger: Over the years I have learned many melodies by O'Carolan and have come to appreciate and love his genius.  His music is composed in several styles reflecting the musical mood of the day; you can hear the old style music in the Fairy Queen and Elizabeth MacDermott Roe, you can hear jigs and reels in Maggie Brown and Loftus Jones, and you can hear Continental influences in Morgan Magan and the "Concerto".

Over the Water: Mary Lloyd

A delightful new book of mostly Celtic tunes and songs and a few poems, collected, interpreted, arranged and in some cases composed by Mary K. Lloyd.

The titles in this book are super!  Many favorites, some as harp solo, some as harp with voice, some as both.  For intermediate harp in C, G or D with one optional Eb.  Ms. Lloyd's books are like carrying around a treasured book.  The poems, melodies and lyrics are all lovely!  Even includes a Ugandan folk song.
