Lullaby Collection: Angi Bemiss

Lullaby Collection, arranged by Angi Bemiss

Angi tells us this book began as a medley of two of her favorite lullabies, which she plays at the neo-natal intensive care unit at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. To her, this department is sacred. Angi says, too, that the chord progresion for the Pachelbel Canon is very relaxing for her, so this book contains introductions, bridges, and codas with that progression. The arrangements are straightforward, and chords are provided for you to make any changes you wish. Titles are:

Love In Bloom: Christa Grix

We first heard this arrangement performed by Brandee Younger  (http://brandeeyounger.com/) when she was on tour in Houston.  It is a beautiful pedal harp arragement with lush chords and lots of pedal changes.  It's a merging of 2 folk songs: My Love is Like a Red Red Rose (Robert Burns) and The Riddle Song (I Gave my Love a Cherry). Performance (by Christa Grix) CD included!

Arranger Christa Grix is a well-known harpist in the Detroit area.  www.christagrix.com

The Session Collection

The purpose of this book is to demonstrate by example how harpists can play in a session.  Included are several compositions for the beginner to the more advanced harpist with examples on how to alter the arrangement for harps with 26-36 strings.  For the beginner, play the melody or the bass line or the chord symbols.  For the more advanced player, utilize all the information shown on a given page while offering the space to add embellishments.

Includes an explanation of musical terms.

A Cape Breton Bouquet

We had ordered this publication from the arranger and just a couple days after they arrived here at the store we received an e-mail from Carolyn Ancell thus (what a coincidence!)

Medieval & Renaissance Music for Harp arr. Laura Zaerr

The twenty intermediate to advanced arrangements in this book invite the player on a musical/historical journey from the French trouvères to Tielman Susato. These arrangements use a variety of techniques including harmonics, prés de la table, left hand étouffé, some quick lever changes and the full range of a 36 string harp.

Colors of Italy

If you like the music of Frank Voltz, you will absolutely love this collection from William Mahan of some of the most beautiful melodies ever. Truly inspired, these compositions can be used for any type of situation:  for yourself, for healing music, for background music, for recitals.  The music is not difficult, but the LH does require some crossing over and under.

The King of Love (Psalm 23)

A 5-page solo base on a Chinese melody.  For lever or pedal harp - intermediate difficulty.  Moving 16th notes throughout with some full block chords.  A nice addition to your harp repertoire!
